Thinking it through...

On your marks... Get set... GO!

March has been a fantastic month for business – it seems that the year usually needs to gather momentum and then we start getting into our incredibly fast paced March Madness ...

Just as that happens ....Easter arrives.

Now how could anyone possibly be expected to be in the office during that time. There is no-one around to talk to, as Johannesburg does it’s usual holiday season trick ....evacuates the city!!

It probably is a good thing as it forces us to slow down, take a breath and gather momentum for the next exciting part of the year.

If you have not yet booked your ten days away (yes, only three days of leave and ten full days of R&R) then check out our Book it Yourself site to book some time out of town.

In this ezine, we have found an exciting new team build an we have continued our green theme in our Incentives.

Please click on our Activist Button below to stop the Seal slaughter. I have been doing it for years. Perhaps at some point in time they will pay attention.

Wishing you a fabulous weekend

With love

Alternative Greece

Greece presents a wide spectrum of natural beauty and unusual animal life...The successful combination of tourism and conservation at the natural habitats in Greece serves as models for other important natural areas in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean.

In the flat and semi-mountainous area important hydro-biospheres are developing a great international significance and acknowledgement.

Hotspots for thousands of resident and migratory bird species, amphibian species, endemic populations of invertebrates and fish, buffalo, reptiles and a great variety of insects, the hydro-biospheres are pieces in a more complex mosaic that includes wetlands, dry meadows, hedges, small bush forests and rural landscape.

The most important of these is Lake Kirkani click through to see the wonderful work that is being done. In recognition of the area's significance, biological stations have been constructed and used by host students, scientists and visiting researchers as well as conferences and volunteer activities.

Various programs are in place to finance the refurbishment of local traditional buildings serving for accommodations and meetings, mostly operated by women's cooperatives. The basic infrastructure in place has given incentives to private entrepreneurs to provide food, accommodation and other services, and attract public investments oriented towards ecotourism.

Add Lake Kirkani to your standard exploration of the top ten!

Teambuilding

Excavate the past, build the future...

Teambuilding has always been a questionable thing. Does it add education, a skill or value to the team, or is it just fun? In the greening area, is it adding value to society?
There are two teambuilding items that I think provide a holistic experience:

Habitat for Humanity
This one has been around for years, but is still a wonderful option if you have not yet done it.

Experience the unique opportunity of helping a family to construct their own home from slab to roof. All in a week’s work!
This option allows 10 – 15 volunteers to work on site for 5 consecutive days. It guarantees the opportunity to work on all aspects of the house construction and to experience the delight of a family when they receive the keys to their new home.

Excavating as a team at Cooper’s Cave with Maropeng
Tired of golf days and paintball competitions for your company’s teambuilding experiences?
Why not try something new in the Cradle of Humankind? Maropeng has launched a unique, outdoor, executive teambuilding experience that will bring your staff together in a new, educational way.

The cost of this fun and educational teambuilding experience is R1 600.00 per person and includes tea on arrival, water to take with you on the short walk to the site and drinks at the site. After excavating, a delicious picnic lunch will be served. The day begins at 09h00 and ends at 16h00, providing a perfect day out for you and your team.
Let us quote on your next teambuilding exercise and we will assist in making sure that it is as Green as can be: info@work2play.co.za
